In collaboration with ANMASI A/S , a complete, fully automated solution was developed that combined advanced washing, filtration, and robotics to ensure high quality, stable operation, and a more efficient production process.

Danfoss's challenge
In 2017 , Danfoss faced the need to replace a 28-year-old washing system that had become both outdated and high-maintenance. At the same time, it could no longer meet current cleanliness requirements for production.
In addition, the company wanted a higher degree of automation to reduce repetitive manual work (EGA) and improve the work environment.
The project involved the production of cast pump housings for oil pumps, which had to be washed both inside and out in a three-shift operation. As a result, Danfoss needed a comprehensive solution that could ensure a high level of cleanliness, stable operation, and efficient handling of large production volumes.
The supplier was also required to provide a complete solution that included not only a washing system but also automation before and after washing— including the handling and packaging of parts.

The Solution
Anmasi A/S was selected as the supplier based on its expertise and comprehensive solution rather than price. The result was a fully automated washing system delivered in collaboration with several specialized partners and installed in 2018.
The solution consisted of a 5-stage washing system with specially designed rinse zones and ultrasonic cleaning, which ensured a high level of cleanliness both inside and outside the parts. In addition, a central filtration system fromMasterclean was integrated, featuring a Band filter, an oil separator, and a buffer tank from FILCO, which enabled continuous filtration of the fluid under high load during three-shift production.
A specially designed conveyor fixture and robotic cells ensured precise positioning and handling of the complex parts throughout the entire washing process. After washing, rinsing, and drying, the parts were automatically packed into shipping crates by robots.
The system was also equipped with automatic chemical dosing, water refilling, and process and energy monitoring. The result was a significant improvement in the cleanliness of the pump housings, which reduced errors and scrap in the subsequent assembly and testing process.
