Wastewater Evaporation
At ENVOTHERM, we offer customized wastewater solutions for a wide range of industries. Our expertise spans everything from energy and waste management to food production, the pharmaceutical industry, and much more. We work closely with our customers to understand their unique needs and deliver effective, long-lasting solutions that support their operations.
The core of the wastewater treatment plant is the reuse of the exhaust steam to heat the incoming wastewater. This smart use of energy reduces total energy consumption by up to 66% compared to conventional systems.
ZLD (Zero Liquid Discharge)
ZLD stands for Zero Liquid Discharge—a wastewater treatment technology that removes all contaminants from the water. The treated water can be reused over and over again. Using a ZLD evaporator optimizes wastewater treatment while conserving valuable resources.
EMVR e technology
E-MVR is ENVOTHERM’s patented technology for efficient and cost-effective wastewater evaporation. With E-MVR , you have an advanced and reliable technology that ensures your efficiency for many years to come.
E-MVR technology separates your wastewater into two fractions: a concentrate (2–10%) and a distillate (90–98%). As the only provider on the market, we guarantee the purity of your distillate—which means you are guaranteed to be able to reuse your treated process water again and again in your production. E-MVR technology typically reduces the volume of wastewater requiring disposal by 90–98%, depending on the amount of solids in your wastewater.
The Complete Solution
Our wastewater solutions are designed for companies seeking an efficient and cost-effective way to manage industrial wastewater. Typically, this wastewater is generated during washing processes, after which it must either be disposed of or treated for reuse.
ENVOTHERM offers a complete solution that can be integrated directly into the production process. By combining pre-filtration, pH adjustment, evaporation, and post-treatment, the wastewater can be treated so that most of the water can be reused or discharged, while only a small amount of residual product needs to be disposed of.
The process typically consists of the following steps:
1. Prefiltration and pH adjustment
The wastewater is first passed through a Band filter or another suitable pre-filter, which removes solid particles and impurities. The pH level is then adjusted to optimize the subsequent treatment.
2. Evaporation Using EVR Technology
At the wastewater treatment plant, the water is treated using ENVOTHERM’s energy-efficient EVR technology. Here, clean water is separated from the dissolved contaminants, which significantly reduces the amount of waste. The purified distillate can then be reused in production.
3. Post-treatment with an activated carbon filter
To achieve the highest water quality, the distillate can be further treated in an activated carbon filter. This removes any residual substances, organic compounds, and unwanted odors.
The result
After treatment, typically 90–98% of the wastewater will have been converted into clean water, while only 2–10% of the concentrate needs to be disposed of. The treated water can either be reused in the washing process or discharged in accordance with applicable regulations, thereby reducing both water consumption and disposal costs.

Custom Solutions
Since the start of the year, many companies have felt the impact of rising costs associated with the disposal of industrial wastewater. We offer two flexible solutions that can be tailored to your needs:
- On-site wastewater treatment—A complete evaporation solution installed directly at your facility. This allows you to treat wastewater and reuse it in your production process, which both reduces costs and minimizes reliance on external disposal.
- Wastewater treatment at our Wastewater treatment plant in Grindsted– You send the wastewater to us, and we handle the entire treatment process at our newly established, state-of-the-art Wastewater treatment plant.
No matter which solution you choose, we can help you reduce the volume of wastewater, lower costs, and achieve a high rate of recycling.
