The customer was looking for a flexible and solution-oriented manufacturer of a washing system for cleaning die-cutting tools for their factories in the Netherlands and Vietnam. That’s when ANMASI came into the picture with our flexible approach to washing systems—we develop systems that incorporate both ultrasonic cleaning and rinse washing, which was a requirement for the customer. And since there are very few companies with comprehensive experience in both areas, as ANMASI does, we were quickly selected.
The punching tools had to be washed in two batches of 200 kg every 15 minutes, which placed high demands not only on the washing system but also on the handling of the tools, as they were very delicate due to the high precision requirements involved in punching this type of workpiece.
Therefore, the project includes both a washing system with ultrasonic cleaning, rinse washing, and drying, as well as a conveyor system with ergonomic fixtures for handling—designed specifically for this project—where we wash the tools around the clock.
This meant that we supplied a washing system that was integrated into their entire workshop, where each workstation was connected to a conveyor belt that automatically delivers the punching tools to the washing system after they have been removed, and returns them after the washing process.
This allowed the customer to avoid having employees at the 6–8 workstations use a crane to move the tools around the workshop when they needed to be washed or for similar tasks, since everything operated automatically. In addition, we installed a “demagnetizer” at the inlet of the washing system to remove all metal shavings before washing, thereby significantly increasing the throughput time and ensuring that the tools were completely free of shavings after washing.
Drawings and photos of the cleaning system can be found below; however, due to agreements with the customer, it is not possible to show photos or drawings of the entire washing system.
