About Hvide Sande Shipyard A/S
HVIDE SANDE Skibsværft, Stål og Service has been an integral part of the shipbuilding industry since 1950. The company specializes in the repair and maintenance of fishing boats, older sailing ships, and schooners, as well as a large portion of the wind industry’s vessels.
They also offer new construction and maintenance services for houseboats. Every day, they face challenges in an industry that demands innovation and flexibility.
Hvide Sande The Shipyard's Challenge
As part of the cleaning process for fishing boats prior to painting, process water and wastewater containing heavy metals are generated. Previously, this process water was disposed of in landfills, but HVIDE SANDE Skibsværft sought a solution that could treat and reuse the water rather than continuing with continuous landfill disposal.
They contacted Envotherm, which tested a sample of the wastewater in its laboratory and determined that evaporating the process water was a viable option.

The Solution
ENVOTHERM supplied a ET150 Wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 150 l/t, which effectively treats the wastewater and enables the water to be reused.
HVIDE SANDE Skibsværft are very satisfied with the solution, especially the support they receive from ENVOTHERM, including hotline support. During the startup and commissioning of the wastewater treatment plant , it was a great advantage for the company to be able to speak with the same engineer every time and have any issues resolved quickly online or by phone.
With ENVOTHERM’s “ ET150 ” system, HVIDE SANDE Skibsværft has achieved a solution that is both cost-effective and practical—one that not only helps meet environmental requirements but also reduces the need for disposal and promotes water reuse.
