Hans Schmidt GmbH

When large volumes of industrial wastewater containing cooling lubricants and emulsions need to be treated, a solution is required that both ensures effective treatment and reduces the need for disposal. For Hans Schmidt GmbH , this challenge became an opportunity to optimize the treatment of their industrial wastewater through a modern and effective solution from ENVOTHERM.

About Hans Schmidt

Hans Schmidt Altöl- und Abfallverwertung GmbH, located in Fürth, Germany, is a medium-sized, family-owned collection facility with 200 employees. The company specializes in the collection and treatment of environmentally hazardous industrial wastewater from throughout Germany using 75 tanker trucks.

Hans Schmidt's Challenge

Hans Schmidt receives 12,500 m³ of used cooling lubricants, emulsions, and other industrial wastewater annually, which until now has been disposed of through external service providers. This process resulted in annual costs of EUR 625,000 until 2008.

Customer Case Study: Envotherm found a solution for Hans Schmidt’s industrial wastewater that allowed the company to easily and efficiently reuse and dispose of the wastewater.

The Solution

ENVOTHERM's patented absorber reduces the COD value of the distillate, which means that no additional discharge fees are imposed by the authorities.

This solution enabled Hans Schmidt GmbH to recycle significant amounts of waste and significantly reduce its emissions, while achieving a return on investment in just 6 months.
