AAO Steel A/S
Metalworking involves the use of large volumes of process water, which, after production, contains oil, metals, and other impurities. At AAO Steel A/S , ANMASI has provided a solution that treats the process water and enables a large portion of it to be reused in production.
About the Customer
AAO Steel A/S, is a metalworking company in Horsens that specializes in deep drawing, stamping, and cold forming. Since its founding in 1924, the company has maintained a strong presence in the industry and currently employs 500 people.
AAO Steel A/S For many years, they have been handling large volumes of process water from their alkaline washing line, but wanted to find a more sustainable and cost-effective solution.

AAO Steel's challenge
AAO Steel A/S disposes of 1,200 m³ of process water annually from an alkaline washing line. Until 2009, the company incurred annual costs of DKK 720,000 for the external disposal of the process water. In addition, there were also expenses related to softened water.
The company wanted to find a solution that would reduce these costs while also optimizing water consumption. Envotherm presented a solution that resulted in only 5% of the process water needing to be disposed of.

The Solution
ENVOTHERM supplied a ET350 Wastewater treatment plant , which concentrates the process water so that only 5% of the water needs to be disposed of. The remaining 95% is distilled into water of such high quality that it can be directly reused in production. The oil content in the water is less than 10 ppm, and the conductivity is less than 40 μS/cm, ensuring high quality of the reused water. The investment in the “ ET350 ” system paid for itself in less than two years, resulting in significant savings for AAO Steel A/S in both wastewater disposal and water consumption.
With ENVOTHERM’s “ ET350 ” solution, AAO Steel A/S has achieved a solution that is both resource-efficient and cost-effective, supporting the company’s sustainable approach to production and water consumption.
